Lacking self-confidence can be very hard. Low self-esteem could hold one back at work, in social settings, and in relationships. In addition, there are actions to be taken to control attitude and teach to feel more confident. From changes in mindset and behaviours, there is always something that could be done.

Below are the twenty best actions to be taken to boost self-confidence in no particular order…


1# Grooming Oneself.

This looks like such an obvious one. However, it’s amazing how much of a difference a shower and a shave can make in your feelings of self-confidence and self-esteem. Take care of yourself by dressing neatly, applying makeup, combing your hair, shaving, brushing your teeth and many more.


2# Dress Nicely. 

A nicely dressed woman according to the weather condition.

Looking good in dresses ignites happiness in oneself. It makes one feel successful and presentable. Now, dressing nicely means something different for everyone. It doesn’t mean wearing a GHC5000 outfit. Here are some clues to help in dressing nicely:

  • Often purchase clothes you can wear to multiple settings such as a cute dress that can be worn with heels and a handbag or be dressed down with a cardigan and sneakers.
  • Be yourself! Pick out outfits that will make you feel great when you wear them.
  • Be open to inspiration. If you see a look you like in a magazine, try it out!
  • Wear things that you feel confident in!
  • Check out ‘We Heart Its app. People are posting outfits where you could get inspiration on what to wear.
  • Try to be colourful as simply wearing one colour can make outfits look dull or uninteresting.
  • Mix and match; you don’t have to buy an outfit that is already put together.

Having a mental picture of oneself determines how confident one is in himself/herself. This picture isn’t fixed and immutable. You can change it.

Exercise has been one of my most empowering activities in the last couple of years, and it has made many people feel so much better about themselves.



In a nutshell, it is necessary, the constant feeling of confidence about an action or a decision, this notion is in congruence with Walt Disney’s opined “When you believe in a thing, believe in it all the way, implicitly and unquestionable”.
